Japan, the 12th century. Katsuro was the best fisherman in the entire empire, but that did not save him from destruction. He supplied carp for ponds in the imperial city and therefore had a special position. Now his young widow Miyuki must replace him and deliver the emperor left after her husband carp. She will be forced to travel several hundred kilometers through forests and mountains, avoiding storms and earthquakes, faced with the attack of robbers and betrayal of fellow travelers, fighting water monsters and cruelty of people.
And only the memory of their happy moments with Katsuro of the past will give Miyuki the strength to overcome obstacles and convey his burden to the Service of Gardens and Backwaters.
