For a decade, the eccentric rich man adopted six girls from different parts of the world at the age of infancy. Each of them was named after a star in the constellation Pleiades, or the Seven Sisters.
The novel begins with the fact that one of the sisters, Maya, learns about the sudden death of his father. She rushes to the house of childhood, to Switzerland, where everyone gathers to learn the last will of his father. In the house they see a mysterious sphere on which the names of all the sisters and their birthplace are engraved.
Maya becomes the first to decide to learn about her roots. She flies to Rio da Janeiro and, enlisting the support of the local writer Floriano quintelas, plunges into the mysteries of the past, which is closely intertwined with the legend of the seven sisters and their mysterious destiny.
